The active-Vversion is SeaCell®-fiber which is kind to the skin and has been enriched with silver. Silver has been known to have antibacterial properties since ancient times. And as pure silver is generally not known to trigger any negative side effects, it is used as an activator in the manufacture of SeaCell® active. The seaweed’s effect is further boosted by a long-lasting antimicrobial effect, as has been proved in tests carried out by the Hohenstein Institute to meet the Japanese Industrial Standard. Trials with bacterial and fungal cultures at the University Hospital of Jena have also established that the active fiber has antimicrobial properties. Just like SeaCell® pure, the active fiber can be used in all sorts of ways. What’s interesting in this respect is that all test results apply not only to products made of 100% SeaCell® active, but also to a whole host of blends with other types of fiber such as cotton and polyester.
